Bookings for the Shropshire Winter/Christmas HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Programme are now open.

Shropshire Council are working in partnership with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to run exciting holiday clubs this winter.

From 20 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, HAF eligible children and young people are invited to take part in a range of fun free activities, happening at holiday clubs from across the county

Core Eligibility: Children and young people aged 4 (in reception class) to 16 who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals.

These children and young people will automatically receive a code and information about how to book onto a holiday club from their school. If you don’t get a code and booking information please get in touch with your child/rens school/s.

Wider Eligibility: Children and young people living in areas of high deprivation (top five tiers of deprivation, based on indices of deprivation/income) and/or from low-income households who are not in receipt of benefits related free school meals.

These children and young people can be referred onto the programme by a professional, by completing a referral form.

Paid Places:  Many of the HAF programmes also include paid places for children and young people who don’t meet the eligibility criteria. These spaces are generally very heavily subsidised and have been highlighted in the What’s On Guide.
