Come and grab a bargain at the table top sale at Ellesmere Town Hall on Saturday 8th November.   Enjoy free entry and delicious cake and coffee whilst you browse 30 stalls and catch up with friends.

All proceeds from the sale will support the Mayor’s Charities 2025/2026, Ellesmere Carnival Committee and The Thursday Club.

Ellesmere Carnival is a vibrant annual celebration bringing the community together for a day of fun, music, and tradition.  Featuring a lively parade through the town, entertainment for all ages, local food vendors, and exciting attractions, the carnival showcases the heart of Ellesmere. With floats, live performances, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a highlight of the local calendar, celebrating the spirit and heritage of this charming Shropshire town.  The Carnival Committee also hosts additional events throughout the year, including the great Easter Egg hunt! Volunteers from the committee also help with marshaling events such as the triathlons that take place in Ellesmere…and they’re always looking for volunteers!

Ellesmere’s Thursday Club provides an opportunity for the elder members of the town community to meet regularly and make new friends at the Town Hall.  The club starts at 9am until 2.30pm and transport from home is provided with the total daily cost of £15.  Volunteers, headed by Elaine Stockdale run a full day of activities and serve morning coffee, a two-course lunch, and afternoon tea with cake.  Every week there is entertainment, perhaps a speaker or a demonstration, games, crafts and reminiscence, and seated exercise once a month. Music and sing-a-longs are an important part of the mix.  The first day is a taster visit free of charge and a family member is warmly invited to come along too.  If you would like to come along, or you know someone who might be interested, please call Elaine for further information on 01691 777207.
