You can now subscribe to have your garden waste collected in the 12 months from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026.
The charge is £56 per bin, meaning there is no increase on the current year’s charge.
If you currently subscribe to the service Shropshire Council are encouraging you to sign up as soon as possible to ensure there is no break in your collection service.
Everyone that subscribes for the year 25/26 will receive a new, different colour, bin sticker.
Please note: the price will be reviewed as part of the council’s 2026/2027 budget consultation process and is subject to change from 1 April 2026.
If you selected ‘auto renewal’ when you subscribed you don’t need to do anything. Your subscription will be automatically renewed on 24 October and payment charged to the card that you used when signing up.
If you have any questions about the auto renewal process please visit our website.
If you didn’t select ‘auto renewal’ you can subscribe as follows:
Online: visit our website and follow the link to the MiPermit site. If you currently subscribe you’ll need to sign in to your MiPermit account. If you don’t you will need to sign up before you subscribe. Within MiPermit select ‘buy digital permits’ from the menu, then select ‘garden waste subscription’.
By phone: call MiPermit on 0345 520 7007 and select option 2
You can also get help subscribing by visiting our Shropshire Local units in Shrewsbury or Ludlow, or one of our Shropshire Local mobile units. Click here for details.
If you don’t want to subscribe garden waste can also be taken to one of Shropshire Council’s household recycling centres, or composted at home.
Please don’t put garden waste in your general waste bin, as this is taken to the council’s energy recovery facility which can’t accept garden waste. General waste bins containing garden waste won’t be emptied.
If you no longer want your garden waste bin, you can take it to a household recycling centre to be recycled, or email wastemanagement@shropshire.gov.uk to arrange collection.
